Provision of virtual and physical USB ports in the network
AnywhereUSB is a network-attached USB hub and IP-based remote management solution, which provides virtual and physical USB interfaces in a local network environment. The system is able to send all USB data via LAN to virtual machines on VMware® ESX servers. In this way IT professionals have unlimited and consolidated access around the clock to all USB devices such as scanners, printers and USB mass storage and further USB devices and makes these available for virtual machines too.
Network-attached USB hub to manage and control USB devices remotely
Due to the provision of USB interfaces in the network there are no distance limitations that occur normally when USB devices are connected via cabling. In this way USB devices can be managed and control remotely from server or computer. The multi-host connection functionality allows multiple host computers to establish connections with the AnywhereUSB hub simultaneously. So each computer can take ownership of a group of USB ports provided by the AnywhereUSB hub.
The solution enables to relocate the host computers to a remote location. This translates to smaller workstations, enabling deployment without a local computer for instance at the POS or POI, control centres, assembly lines and in ATM machines or kiosk systems.
