Reliable overview and access to mission-critical components at any time, any place and for every network status
Console servers (also known as serial console management systems, serial console servers or console remote access solutions) offer centralised and consolidated management of peripherals that use serial communication such as Unix servers, USVs, network switches, routers, firewalls and many other IT components inside of a network. If there are malfunctions or operational disruptions for these serial mission-critical components or even network failures, console servers provide, in addition to in-band access also via an external modem, out-of-band (OOB) access to foundering serial IT hardware. System diagnostics, reboots and complete restarts (power off/on) can be carried out even if the LAN is completely down. As a result, administration systems are today considered indispensable components of efficient and reliable network management.
